I didn't get to Mom's until 7:30 today. Long day and I was coming straight from work...AND...I had forgotten her milk and cereal. I bought them yesterday, but forgot to bring them to work with me. Luckily, she didn't ask for or about them...but she may have remembered. Definitely need to remember tomorrow.
I just sat down and watched America's Funniest Home videos with her. Very calm and relaxed tonight. She wasn't wearing any glasses, and she had on one of her Christmas sweaters. She was in great spirits tonight, and started telling me about all the callbacks she had been receiving.
"Yes, I got two callbacks from this show. Of course they needed to talk to my producer...but they know I know how to do it. Of course they ended up going with someone just a little bit funnier, but I'm sure I'll get something soon. I've always had such long legs."
Apparently she's been in high demand these past few weeks. She also asked questions about my work, and how I was doing, even things like what products my company sold. It was kind of cool, because I could tell she was trying to establish a connection. It's so hard to describe this sort of mixed stage she is in... you hear the story above and know how completely irrational it is, but she also looked healthy and was talking clearly and seemingly clear as a bell. She asked if Paula was still coming...so she remembered our conversation from the day before. Good night for her.
