I didn't get to Mom's until 7:30 and after an exhausting day...and week...at work, I was looking forward to just relaxing. I brought Mom a cup of decaf and went to her apartment. The nurse heard me come in and made sure to say "Hi Kim!" as I was walking down the hall.
Mom's TC was on, but her living room was empty. I thought she might be asleep already, and peeked into her room.
'Hi Mom. :-) What are you up to?'
"Nothing. This is where I'm supposed to sleep."
'Oh - were you getting ready to go to bed?'
"No, just changing for bed."
A few minutes later she joined me in the living room and we just had a great conversation. She was clear as a bell tonight. Asked me about my work, asked how everyone was doing..just being pleasant as can be. She told me they had a good day and a nice dinner...turkey. She talked about what a good referee Kenny is, and we watched tv for a bit - Inside Edition and Shark Rank. No hurries or worries.
I would LOVE many, many more days like this with Mom. When I left, I felt as peaceful as I do after a yoga class.
